The telescoping steering wheel on my 2004 works fine every time I start her up, although it gets progressively noisier over time. This is another Range Rover "feature" that to me is actually a bug, something I don't need, don't use, and it will eventually wear and fail. I did a search and someone mentioned in an old thread that the telescoping could be stopped via reprogramming. I thought I'd inquire about an analog fix -- is there a fuse or harness plug that could be removed to deactivate the automatic telescoping and leave it permanently in the extended position? Thanks.

Thanks, Buba. I did a search through the owners manual, and unless I missed it, the later disabling feature (didn't know they had that) wasn't offered in my earlier BMW model. But apparently it can be disabled through diagnostic software??

I have disabled it with IIDTool, you can not disable without and special tool/software for between 2002-2009 models. Also not sure for analog fix via pulling socket or fuse.
