Hi
I’ve noticed the dip stick popping out. Also a lot of oil coming from top end. I be been told this is a pcb problem which is blowing the rocker gasket, hence oil leak. I have a TDV8 March 2008 model. Any knowledge on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks

This is a US site - no TDV8s in the US - have you tried our local Aussie site www.aulro.com - one of largest LR sites in the world. By all means come here for other issues but other than general diesel information there is no point for specific LR diesel info.

Now I do not know about the TDV8 but in general as you have identified you are suffering pressurisation of the crankcase and with popping dispsticks and blowing gaskets - this points to the positive crankcase ventilation (PVC) system not working - in older engines I would say to just replace the PCV valve but I dont know how this is achieved in the TDV8. AULRO will have the answers.
