Im here a strange humming noise around 50mph and also some hesitation up hills sometimes. Im not sure what it is, does anyone know what happens when differential starts to wear or need oil, does the car hesistate at all?? Thank you for responses

humming? does this humming change when up or down a hill, or with acceleration/decelleration? if its constant it may be something else...

as for the hesitation, this could be a number of things, what year/mileage are you running?

anything else you are noticing?

nevermind, just noticed your signature...

if your thinking its your diff then have it checked out, if your over 99K and have never had the oil in your tranny/diffs flushed, now would be a fabulous time to do so..

if your diffs were making a noise loud enough to be heard "humming", then i would think you should be getting some vibrations with that...

anything???

that noise sounds like it may be your cowl vibrating. you can test it by duct taping the cowel, the black rubber where it meets the lower part of your windshield. and see if the noise stops. search cowl on here they have some remedies posted, it that is your problem.

thanks for your reponses, there is definately vibration with the humming sound and when i accelerate up a hill yes it does some sort of shaking and hesitation and this all started when the vibration noise came along, i never had the diff looked at, who should i take it to stealership or any certified mechanic?

ok ill duck tape that and see what happens but im not sure if its that because when it starts the vibration noise my rpms drop so its has if its affecting the drive train of the vehicle.
