DEF warning ‘no news starts in X kms...’

I have a 2018 RR TD6. I regularly refill the DEF myself when required, but this time the warning message on the centre screen and the warning light in the upper left corner of the dash remain on even though I put in 3 gallons of fluid. I am concerned that the vehicle will not restart in 400 kms as it is currently warning. Do I need the dealer to reset the warning, or is this a glitch I can ignore for now? In other words, will the computer prevent restarts even if there is plenty of fluid in the tank? Thanks.

Update: I went to the dealer and they confirmed that there is a recall for a software upgrade for the DEF warning. They did the upgrade free of charge and all is well.

I am glad to hear that it is resolved.
I was going to advise you the same...Mine was taken to the Dealer (free of charge) for soft update and it was also resolved.
Great news.
Enjoy and keep us updated.

Did you have to pay for the update. IM having the same issue.
The OP stated that they did the update free of charge.
I have a 2016 HSE TD6 (purchased used w 60k) and have a service scheduled on Jan 15, 2022. The Def warning about mileage left before no restart and incorrect def came on a week or so ago so I visited the local dealer and bought 2 liters to hold me over until the service visit. The dealer put them in for me but the warning light remained. I thought it would go away after the car was sitting but it never did. I took relatives to the airport and back and now the vehicle is in my garage and unable to start. Hoping to get the same software fix that corrects the problem.
