Hey Guys,

Hope you are all doing well!

I am slightly confused as on how the DRL should look like on a range rover sport l494.

I have seen some range rovers around town which their DRL look like the following :

And i have seen some that look like this :

Can someone shed some light as i am confused!

I know that in my range rover the orange side line comes on when the full light is on but not when the DRL is on.

Is this some sort of an extra? Like for example adaptive headlights that offer the feature of the orange side light to be on when the DRL is on?

Thank you all in advance!

Perhaps some are unaware of the automatic DRL and manually engage parking lights each time. Or they may be fully aware and do it because manually engaging parking lights gives your lit rear markers as well.

DRL = without the yellow markers on
Parking light = with yellow corner markers on
Low beam = with yellow corner markers on

That’s how it works for the L494 pre facelift 2013-2017.

Parking light is manual to activate, that’s the position between the regular light and the off position.
Just jump in your car and try, I am sure you will find it.
👍😊

So you can leave those lights on if you park in a tight corner or something like this?

Is this similar to what mercedes has which allows you to keep a side of lights on?

Thank you for the help!!!

Exactly, in Europe every car has Parking lights since the 50ies, and it’s part of the legal admission requirements.
Some are operating side wise like Mercedes or VW, others operate just all 4 like our Range Rovers...

Dudeee, thanks you have just solved the mystery ahahah.

1 more question though, i saw some guy unlocking his RRS and the parking light came on(orange side line)

When i tried unlocking mine the normal DRL came on (no orange side light)

How is that possible?

Again many thanks!!
