Hi all,

New member here and I need of some desperate help.

I have a 2009 Range Rover Sport and for the past few months my dash will completely die while driving, everything drops to Zero and the digi display goes off, this can stay off for a number of journeys and then can all of a sudden come back on again.
I took the car to a range rover specialist who charged £600 as they replaced many components to the dash which seemed to cure the problem, 7 days later problems re-occur, but this time as im driving the car starts to jolt and then does not accelerate, I have to turn the car off while in motion and turn it on again, luckily this has only happened once.

Any advice?

Hi Scott, funnily enough I am not 100% sure, here comes the embarrassing story; I removed the instrument pack from the dash to see if there was a loose connection, upon re-installation the instrument dials then did not work altogether.
I pulled out fuse number 68 and replaced it as it was blown. Then i started the car. Smoke came out from behind the dash and i panicked, now the car won’t even start...................
I removed the instrument pack and noticed the green wire casing had completely melted, i re-cased it and on further investigation found that one of the pins that connects to the instrument pack was bent and pushed down. I cleaned the pin and straightened it, replaced the 68 fuse and now the dash works perfectly.
