I have a 94 County LWB. I have recently replaced the alternator and the battery. A few days ago I got in it and Nothing works. It still runs and the lights work, along with the alternator. My dash is dead, Odometer, spedometer, a/c, Gas gauge, temp guage, and none of the abs or check engine lights come on any more when you start it up. It still runs like a champ but I need to know how fast I am going and how much gas I have. This happened over night with the truck just sitting. I know that the alternator still works because the lights get real bright when I rev the motor. Could anybody tell me where to look? I am at a loss. I would have assumed that the spedo and odo would be cable driven but apparently not. Please help as I love my rangie and I cannot drive it much longer like this. Has anybody ever experienced this?

If everything's gone, sounds like a multi plug has become disconnected perhaps? I assume it's a hard-dash, so getting to the back of the instruments is pretty easy. Worth having a check, and also try sticking your hand up under the dash and wiggling a few wires - you may find a loose connection somewhere.

Did this happen right after you replaced your battery and altenator? The reason for the question is that you could have reconnected your altenator incorrectly. This could be the problem with your tachometer an your dash lights. The a/c and other problems????

Well I replaced the alternator and battery a couple of months ago. I am almost positive its a loose cable or a bad ground. I have still been driving it for a week now and shes running like a champ. I am really looking for someone who might know where to look as I dont want to just rip it apart. I have attempted to wiggle wires and such with no real luck. Wherever it is it has the wires for almost everything. Oddly enough My charge light and my blinker light and trailer light still works on the dash. My charge light is on but I know my alternator is still charging because I have been driving it for a week with no issues.

94cntylwbfl, I don't know whether or not you have resolved your problem. If it is a loose connection in the dash/barnacle(?) you might look at the following links. They deal with taking apart the dash. In the begining of each there is information and photos of the dash area. Some show the possible connections that may have problems. I hope this may help. You don't need to take apart the whole dash just the part in question.
