Hi,

I am intending to install a 2 ch dash cam in my 2015 RR SC. Instead of an additional power source (like a Cellink Battery B) I am planning to use the second battery (for start/stop) instead. My question - would that be ok or I am missing something what would prevent that?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Instead of mucking with the electrics, you should consider just sticking with the Cellink Battery B, it is a fantastic piece of kit - LiFePO4 chemistry which charges quickly, can power a dash cam for 24hrs easily, and you can draw power from it even when bitter cold and boiling hot like any good LiFePO4 battery should. I keep two Cellink Battery B in my Rover, one to power a BlackVue DR750s-2ch, and another to power a Cradlepoint IBR900 LTE router.

I initially powered the Cellink using a "Y" splitter from one of the cigarette lighter ports in the back, but switched to using fuse taps for a more cleaner install once I found one that was drawing low amperage, and it can draw more amps than the cigarette lighter port.
