My boot looks like it got torn recently when I waded through a swamp and then was temporarily stuck for roughly 45 minutes in said swamp (door seals held great fwiw), was mid door.

I drove home and have been replacing the control arms whose tines were also wrecked, so the car hasn't gotten driven but maybe 3 times, so maybe 400 miles since the incident. There isn't any clicking I've noticed yet (but I'm doing other work so I haven't driven it with a specific bent to hear it). The tear is maybe 1/8" by maybe 1/4" long but is sort of pursed together, the fluid inside the CV surrounds it a bit on the other components where it has been flung.

So the question is rebuild for $60 and suffer the slings and arrows of additional manual labor, or replace it for $350 with a gkn (which I understand is the OEM)?
