Hi there,

My 2018 sport has developed a tremendous amount if creaking in the cabin coming from both sides if the car. It can be heard at low speeds on any uneven and sometimes even surfaces. Any others experiencing this? The vehicle was perfectly quiet the first year of ownership.

take it into dealer... they are aware of issues like this, there is a technical bulletin on this and a kit and procedure has been issues to service centers.

Great thanks for response. I mentioned it when it was in two weeks ago but they acted like it was normal. I’ll take it back and put some pressure on them to rectify it.

I am also curious about this.

I've had numerous cabin noise issues emanating from the dashboard to the doors and it feels like every time the dealer fixes one thing, another creaking noise pops up. Would like to have some resolution and external validation of this before my dealer thinks I am a complete OCD nut.

Have a similar problem. Something loose in my case in the rear panels. Haven’t taken it in yet because the dealer was stonewalling this issue on a previous visit

Did you have any luck getting the noise issues resolved? I have the same issue with both front doors as well as behind the center dash vents. Have taken to the dealer twice and say they cannot reproduce

So far dealer said they can’t reproduce but it’s there all the time. I’m taking it back in again and going to drive it with the head mechanic this time.

My '16 had significant creaking. It was from all the door seals. I lubed them up with weatherstripping conditioner and the creaking went away.

Sorry folks I forgot I replied to this thread.. There has been many over the years and various causes They are still using the same squeak and rattle kit when needed to remedy some of the causes.
tsb about the kit was back in 2013 LTB00389nas3
LTB00746nas7 is about front seat squeaking. LTB01141nas2 is about the roof panel creaking.

These are just a few for reference. your dealer should be able to rectify the problem they just need to take the time to investigate the issue. Most often they do not want to be bothered, without a specific code to submit for a warranty claim to corporate they dont get paid. They have to have a repair code to justify the time with corporate for compensation and in many cases too much time is needed to diagnose the issue without them being compensated for that time. Sad part is if we were out of warranty and paying out of pocket they would be sure to spend the time and take out money.

Mine creaks also but it doesn't bother me as I usually drown it out with the stereo or open windows.

Cold weather will exponentiate any dash creaking. I notice my dash area only does it on really cold mornings... But by the afternoon its literally gone...

I just turn up the Meridian Sound System and my favorite Sirius 6 Presets and that sound melts away instantly... And it's not very loud cracking to begin with but certainly annoys the snot out of me! Thank God for those 19 symphonic speakers!

Hello all

Interesting thread :D

MY16: I have a rattling noise from behind. I have the feeling that it comes from the right side (it's a left hand drive)
By driving on the Autobahn with 130kph I hear it good. It's a sound like a Geiger counter. A fast rattling during 1, 2 seconds.

Any idea?

Cheers

A fast Geiger Counter huh? The only time I've ever had that sound in the cabin on previous cars... it was the speedometer chain and would increase as the MPH's increased. Could be that, might not be though. Noises sometimes will trick you in regards to where they are coming from.

Yep I know... it can come frome somewhere and the sound gives you the feeling that it comes from another side.

I will sit in the back and listen carefully...

I have a new sound that started about 2mo. ago. It’s coming from the back and sounds like the tailgate is loose but it seems solid when I push or pull. It only happens over bumps and almost sounds like something is loose, I thought it was maybe the spare tire not tightened down so would rock when going over bumps but its solid.

I put the seats down and road in the back but of course it didn’t sound near as bad, made me think it was maybe the cover over the tire but that seems solid also. It’s driving me crazy. I just had both batteries replaced, haven’t found a good way to get the covers off the battery compartment without feeling Like Im going to break a clip, Im wondering if it something loose in that compartment rolling around of battery not fastened tight?

You do know about the rear latch tailgate recall right? They fixed mine at the dealer before they would let me take it home... it's free...
