I searched for the best way to remove the bolt that holds the crankshaft pulley in place and two solutions were offered: the "agricultural method" and using an air impact wrench. I didn't have enough room without removing the radiator for the air impact wrench and I thought the crank would just turn. I was worried that the agricultural method would cause damage, I would have needed to deal with the fuel...

I decided to use the strap form a ratchet strap. I first tied one end to the chassis. I then cut a bicycle tube and fed the other end of the strap through it before wrapping it around the pulled. It slipped a little and stretched but off it came. The longest part of the job was finding the required tools. I first tried without the tube and it slipped.

I hope this will help someone in the future... I'm now going to take the timing cover off.
