all the posts ive read on this site saY extend the headrest all the way up and pull
this can damage your headrest mounting.
the correct way is power the headrest all the way right down then they will lift out with no effort.

It doesn't matter if the headrest is up or down in position. Is is simply held in place by two spring pressure clips.

it does make a difference
You will find that it releases with no need to force when in fully down position
It will virtualy lift out with no pressure
And i have seen a lot of headrests damaged through people when fitting seat covers extending headrest then forcing to remove

Odd, I have replaced several heating elements for folks over the years and have never had any need to force a headrest removal by following the directions here. Run the headrest all the way up and they pop right out. In addition when you actually disassemble a seat you can see the spring clips that hold the head rest in place, it truely will make no different bottom or top, the spring clips hold the same.
