An observable leak appeared below the tranny cooler manifold toward the outboard side on our 2004 and wondering aloud if anyone has spotted a leak there which was the rad or one of the orings for the manifold. The rad is now at the 5 year mark and I had replaced the tranny cooler along with a new manifold about 4 years ago. I am thinking as how to remove the manifold, plug the holes, refill and pressure test all in my driveway. Of course the van just had a front brake line split 125 kms from home and am trying to figure out how to replace the ine back to the abs unit under the floor by the drivers seat. tia for any thoughts.

There's no need to remove anything to pressure test, just hook up to the coolant tank cap. I use a Stant with the appropriate adapter.

BTW it is easy to crack the tranny coolant manifold when lowering the A frame on a BMW vintage L322, that's how mine cracked in my 2004 while replacing the front sway bar.

Thanks for the points. The tranny cooler does exert a strain on the assembly.
