My 2008 HSE SC took a hit from a sheet of plywood during hurricane Maria last year. The left front door took the blow, denting the skin and shattering the glass. Fortunately, the door works and the laminated glass (with added internal tint film) stayed in place. The window actually rolls up and down as normal, which is why I have been slow attempting the restoration.

I sourced a complete color matched door from a 2007 donor vehicle, with glass, from a salvage yard, rather than try to have body work done on the existing skin. I wasn't interested in body filler being applied to the vehicle.

My question is to anyone who has knowledge of swapping an L322 door. Is the door most easily separated at the hinge pin (pintle) rather than unbolting the hinge tabs themselves?

Secondly, besides changing the door key tumbler, what other internal parts are essential to move so the CPM doesn't know the door has been replaced? Like modules or computer components?

I was unable to find an existing post that might address this project. The 3,000-page manual I have in pdf, also is inadequate in this issue.

Thank you in advance

Just unbolt and swap the door hinges and all.

Behind the rubber wiring grommet in the door jam there is a plug for everything.

There is nothing to change except your key lock.

This is a very easy do it yourself project.
