this morn started the car let it warm up for a few minutes, put it in drive would not accelerate pass 15-20 , did like you said put it in neutral rpm did not go pass 3, after driving for a few and restarting it about 3 times it picked up and drove normal, check engine light came on says engine system fault , only does this when it's really cold out , Autozone pulled the code something with the throttle body

How does it idle on startup? If you warm it up because of a hunting idle this can be a sign of a dirty throttle body. It can be cleaned with a soft cloth and some sensor safe cleaner.
Would help if you gave us the actual fault code.

Yep: clean the throttle plate and bore. Maybe clean the MAF sensor as well. Problem might also be a bad temperature sensor. If temp sensor fails on either a 4.2 or 4.4 the car will think it is hot and not give enough richness (like an open choke on carbureted cars, years ago), or think it is cold and give way too much fuel once it warms up, acting like it is flooded. These were frequent issues on Jags and Land Rovers as the weather turned cold.

Then some more serious maintenance issues: fuel filter needs replacement, fuel pump is wearing out, plugs are worn out. Fuel system needs cleaning (Lucas, Gumout, SeaFoam).
