Hey everyone,
my check engine light is on and the code is 44 which is the left 02 sensor.. i replaced the sensor and its still on.. on closer examination i found that one of the wires before the 02 sensor plugs in so the main harness is chaffed all the way around it.. its kinda wierd it looks like there is 2 different wires on this one wire?? Its the black wire what im wondering is if i can cut this wire and then crimp on a butt connector as doing some research people say not to saulder the wire..

the truck is running really really rich and when is idling rough..

do you think fixing this will fix the problem?

any ideas on fixing the wire problem..

Thanks

so i went to a auto repair place today and they said that the wire was shielded going back to the engine.

so now i need to figure out how i can test to see if the sensor is getting power and what i can do?

now im not sure what i should do next?

any ideas how i can check to see why the 02 sensor is working or not?
