I have a 1993 LWB V8 RR. Went to start it this morning and with plenty of juice in the battery all I got on turning the key was a series of rapid clicks. Starter motor didn't engage...nothing! Connected a battery booster pack and it started! Then for rest of the day startedlike a good 'un. So, whats the problem here? Is it a solenoid thing? Would like to know!
I think the starter dog has got stuck in the ring gear. My own rangie does this sometimes, not sure of the best fix though :? Probably a new starter would be best if it starts happening regularly!
Thanks guys! Cleaning ALL the electrical connections is already a "To do" on my growing list of jobs! However, a soggy British winter and no garage means I am getting all behind with these jobs. Thanks again
