can anybody tell me if i have it chipped will it inprove the power and mpg it is a1998 p38 a local copany will do it for £200 any advice will help thanks
There are folks here that have "chipped" diesels. Search should pull you up some of their posts on experience and costs. Alot will depend on where you are at.
Having a remapped chip fitted turned my crawler into a flyer, more than well worth it, fuel consumption hasn't changed one way or the other in Town or on a run.

Fitting a chip has transformed my DSE - more power and better MPG.
Biggest advantage is the increase in torque, what you want with an off roader and a tow vehicle.
thought by now all 2.5 would have been chipped. I know when mine had the chip disconnected it was dead (skin and rice pudding came to mind). Makes it a new beast with it fitted

The chip I used is a genuine "Superchip" - bought on Ebay. Performance details on the chip are on their website.
Fitted it myself then got my local Superchip dealer to do the final setup.
