I was wondering who the cheapest source for OEM winch kit was.

I've seen it on ebay for 2500, what is list? What have people actually bought it for?

Available here for about $1,650

I wish I had one but for now it will have to wait...
Strike that... quick google search seems to indicate rovercity.com is not to be trusted. Sorry, should have taken a few more seconds to double check before I posted. It seemed too good to be true.
Seems like land rover is the only reliable source for this part that I can find. So its either that or scour ebay or other similar sources and take what you can get. I don't know what the list price is from LR, but I bet it is outrageous considering they try to charge me $46 for a remote battery. I went to CVS and got a 2-pack for $3.95.
Much will depend on where the OP is located. Rovers North and AB both have them in stock. I would imagine that Rimmers has them available for folks on the other side of the pond as well.
really? I checked both those sites and didn't see it on there...
Hmmm, RNs part number is RNI393 / $2400. I have that one handy just because I tracked it down for my neighbour a couple weeks ago. `) AB had them available last Fall as a special order item. I'll see if I have any notes left over from that project.

As far as Rimmers, I haven't ordered anything from them since they changed their website. It's such a pigstye mismatch now I can't find anything. I imagine a quick call or email would net something from them though.
I got my fitting kit from a chap on Ebay (UK) for the princely sum of 25 pounds. He was only about a 90 minute drive away, so I figured it would be worth the financial risk! This is what I got for my investment (minus the winch itself):

How did you find that without knowing the part number originally? I cannot find it on the website or google without a part number.

That is a great success
Wow! 25GBP is a steal!

This looks like what I've seen advertised as a 'discreet winch mount', tho. I pictured the winch sunk behind the bumper and the license plate covering the fairlead as I've seen on RRS's. I'm not knocking it - it looks very similar to OEM. But discreet...
Yep, that looks identical. Be warned though, 'discreet' is a subjective discription. You'll still have a fair old lump of metal sticking out at the front, even someone who knew nothing about cars would realise something's not quite right with the front of your Range Rover!

You'll also have to do some cutting of your bumper skin. You can just see in the above picture why you have to, but below is a pic of how much material (the blue bit) you have to remove. I purchased a reasonable secondhand skin and repainted it, so that returning the car to OE spec at some point in the future would be simple.

This is it, no?
If memory serves, this is the resurrected Scorpion Racing, known to us anoraks as ScrapIron Racing. In fact, the iron is not too bad, but their powdercoating is HORRIBLE.

That said, these guys haven't had an original idea in 10 years, so very possibly it's a knock off from another add-on manufacturer.

I had a dream that 06 SC looked just like that last night...........except it was black with flat black wheels and ridiculous knobby tires on it. :D
