If you're talking diesels, the TD5 is a far better engine in a heavy 4x4 than the BMW in the P38.
And the Disco offers more room, either for cargo (the door makes it easier to load pallets with a forklift) or passengers if it had the 3rd row kiddie seats.
Other than that, it's not a match for the P38 on any level. So if you're gonna use it the same way, keep the P38 (unless that is in a poor shape, but might still be better to set it straight rather than go for a Disco).
Then again, if you like the way the Disco looks and fancy a change, just follow your heart and go for it. ;-)
