I finally have a working CarPlay program installed in my '19 L405 HSE TD6. It took them two install tries but it finally works. A couple of questions of those who use it:

Is there a setting to have the media go back to the last source listened to after disconnecting CarPlay? Currently it goes to AM radio every time.
When you have your phone attached and CarPlay is up, is there a way to go back to another source or anything else on the top screen without physically disconnecting the phone?

I'm looking now for some CarPlay basic instructions but have yet to find any.

BTW: Between 1/19 and yesterday there were several vehicle/software updates that have come out. My guys updated every system in the vehicle and it seems to be stable, though they still can't figure out how to make the depoyable side steps operate as specified in the manual.

Thanks!

Source issue: I think it's a Land Rover problem, not a CarPlay one. It is the ICTP system's choice what source to use, CarPlay is just one of the options for it. Why it defaults to AM Radio is probably in the head of 1 engineer who at one point thought to himself: lemmeeffoverallthosericheffs - or something. If someone has a better explanation, I'm all ears.

As for the second question, yes: Go to the main Carplay screen (by pressing the little home icon in the lower left corner), and then tap on the Land Rover icon. That will take you out to the main Land Rover ICTP screen. When you're done with whatever you're doing, go back to the ICTP home screen, and you can (for example) hit CarPlay in the Phone tile. Or you can hit the CarPlay icon in the screen bottom line of icons. I hope these made sense.

Thanks! I was going to post an update this morning, after spending more time in the car. As far as the first question goes, knowing the answer to the second one pretty much solves it! After going back to the LR media screen I just chose "Source" then Satellite radio and voila, it was set to there!

I thought your question was why it defaults to AM radio (because it does). Sure, you can change it, but it's a pretty nasty choice to use as default.
