Can somebody take a picture of a part that I'm looking for

I don't know what it's called, but a plastic piece that covers the crevice between the lower tailgate and the cargo space has failed, causing the plastic piece to stay upright even when the lower tailgage is opened.

Upon inspection, looks like there are two tabs that's spring loaded on the backside of the plastic component to cause it to come down when the tailgate is lowered.

Can somebody take a picture of the plastic tabs that's spring loaded? I figure i'll make a replacement tabs with an aluminum and glue it in.

I'd take em for you, but mine did the same thing thanks to my dog kicking them off jumping into the truck.

Here's how I fixed mine. Wire ties are like beer: Proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.

Mine needs fixing, too.

This is what it should look like.

Thanks for all the inputs.

It appears that the little tab that holds the spring is completely gone in my case. I'll probably make a replacement tab out of piece of an aluminum and glue it in.

If it works, I'll post the remedy
Re: Can somebody take a picture of a part that I'm looking for

I managed to drill what was left of the tab, as close to the main flat bit (if you understand me). Drill was ever so slightly larger than the spring.
The spring was then bent so it fitted through the hole.
Will try to take a picture or two later.

bah - everything can be fixed with cableties.

Mine didnt work from the day I got it so I drilled a small hole in it and put a cabletie loop through it to the lower tailgate, just enough to pull it down as the tailgate is almost all open

can take a picture if you like - I am not good at explaining stuff
Re: Can somebody take a picture of a part that I'm looking for

Here are the pictures that I promised. It might explain better what I did.

The left spring.

The right spring.

They have held up for the last 2 months. I don't think glueing the broken bits back with superglue or any other glue would help. Plastics used in modern cars don't seem to be glued very well.
