Buying my 1st Range Rover tomorrow....a 2007 HSE Blue/Tan, and not sure what to do about extended warranty...any help would be appreciated!

It's a 2007 w/ 27,000 miles, in service date May of 07. Dealer said the cpo warranty through LR was $1800 for 1 yr/12k miles after factory expires, or they offer an easycare aftermarket that begins at date of purchase? and goes out as far as 4 years. 3yrs for 3100, 4 years 4124. Factory warranty will give me another 16 months or so. I plan on owning the car maybe 2-3 years, anyone have any experience with the cpo vs easycare warranty? I am real skeptical of the easycare...you think my best option would be just the 1 yr cpo extended? They seemed to be selling the easycare pretty hard saying it was almost identical to the land rover one....your thoughts? or no warranty? i dont know. Seems that the 07 is more reliable than some of the previous years. thanks!

I trust this shop highly and have spoken with the owner (awesome guy) at length on this topic and he seemed to share my sentiments. I think the easycare contract is a reputable service. Here is a URL to my shop's website with a blurb about it:

I opted not to get a warranty/service contract because I perform a fair amount of service myself as time/expertise allows and I just didn't feel like I would get my money's worth from it. I think if you always visit a shop the contract may come closer to providing good value (but on average the company will still make a profit, so keep that in mind) especially if you value peace of mind and would struggle to pay for huge costs like a new engine/transmission.

FYI CPO was easycare up until '05 I believe. I had easycare on my dicso and they paid out over 5k on 3 claims no issues.

I only have good things to say about APCO Easycare based on my experience.

I bought an 06 and didn't bother with extended warrentee... Chose one that had a very clean service record. Many of the issues that come up are computer related. I figure most of bugs would have been worked out in the first 3 years...

good luck. '07s are nice with the updated interior.
