Here's a quick one, the Burndy connectors as used on T4, who knows what model they are, and more to the point where can they be purchased from.
I think this may be a one for Colin at BBS, I bet he knows ! :thumb: :thumb:

I bet he does too

But he won't be telling you
As you may know, the original manufacturer went bust long ago and we bought up a reasonable supply just before

In order to produce a range of replacement T4 leads ourselves. :thumb:
what do you need / want, i may be able to help

Colin
Hi Colin, I am after making up a DTC0065A, and a DTC0062B, I have the J1962 end, but need a couple of the burndy plug shells, and connector pins, I would settle for the pins, and reuse some old shell housings I have, from dead DTC008a's I have kicking about. PM me with price & availability :D :D
Cheers
Brian.

What a find Colin, near enough don't you think? , looks like my prayers were answered
Connector heaven, the wonders of Google eh?
Brian,
It seems someone else had the idea to buy up when possible.

Indeed therefore it seems you are sorted.
well found chap, as you say, the power of google cannot be under estimated
Evening Colin, it would appear not quite what I expected, the connector shells are fab, the machined, gold plated contact pins are fab, however the connector backshells/strain relief, are in one word pants! I'll post ups some pics to show you what I mean.

My "customised" extra long lead for use with TestBook 1, approx 1 metre, so the VCSI brick can be plugged directly into the back of the machine, leaving a sensible length to reach the diagnostic connector on the machine.

This clearly shows the "Standard" backshell/strain relief, as supplied by the manufacturers

Note the use of gold plated machined contacts in my replacement DTC0064A

Lastly, my new DTC0064A

But what I really want, is to be able to use the spiral top glands, as per original, especially as I want to manufacture a shorter version of DTC4007B, so I'm not lugging around an unnecessary, 5 metre extension cable around in my laptop bag, but the OE backshells are simply not up to the job of a 12 core screened cable!.
Spiral top glands aren't the issue here, but the female to female adaptor used to connect the plug to the gland!
Any sensible suggestions on a postcard please.
