Yup, got the brake warning light. 2015 FFRR SC.

Do I need to bring it to the dealer for a brake job? I understand there is some special tool that they have that the average shop doesn't. Is that true?

Assuming that this is just the sensor tripping and telling you to change the sensor/pads/rotors, then no. There is no need to go to the dealer. I would take it to an independent shop or just change them out myself. I would suggest searching this forum for links on how to disable and re-enable the ebrake system.
