Got the warning today but all of the pads look good from the outside. Anyway to tell if it’s front or back without taking the wheels off?
Sorry @chris92229,but you can't tell if the pads are worn from looking at the outside of em ....if the warning has come on then before you damage the rotor you should change them ....that's my thoughts.
If you have a scanner like GAP it will tell you which end.

Well clearly, if I can’t see from the outside and the sensor is on the inside, then it’s one of the inner pads. My question was more along the lines of, is there a sensor on the front and rear or is there somewhere that tells u if it’s front or back other then using a GAP tool? Thank you though.

I don’t care about the rotor because I’ll be changing them as well. Thank you though.

You don’t need a GAP tool. You need a visual inspection. Get a mechanics mirror and put it through the spoke if the wheel to check. You can also remove the wheel with the sensor to have a better look.

The sensor is on the inner pad at both ends. I forget which side though. Opposite corners for sure. I think the sensor goes off with less than 2mm remaining.

Sorry @Bora20 is right the GAP will not tell us about the pad wear!

Here is a video about changing the front pads and rotors, also the front pads have only 1 wear sensor on the inside pad.
