The lower part of the tailgate on my 2013 Vogue SE is not closing with enough force to properly catch.

In turn, this prevents the upper part of the tailgate closing. On first attempt top part bleeps and re-opens, on second attempt it closes but the 'tailgate open' light comes on and vehicle will not lock.

Only solution to be able to lock/ extinguish open light, is to give the the lower part a push manually to make it catch.

Any way of adjusting this? Any suggestions?
Thanks
Tom

After messing about with this for ages, it sounds like after the lower tailgate has electronically 'pulled' closed, there's a latching process which sounds like it works on a different motor. It seems to start up when the lower tailgate has been pulled up into position, but it only seems to do this 1 in 10 times, allowing the boot to latch properly.

Has anyone else had bother that fits this description? What was the solutioN?
Thanks in advance.

There was a TSB for early soft close latches. I don;t recall if that was doors only or if the tailgate and hatch was covered as well. Either way it should be matter of a slight adjustment. Pop into the dealer and see if they will cover it under the TSB.
