Yope, I thought I would never be in such situation. but it happened. I don't know how the dealer will open it tomorrow I think they will have to brake one of the glasses. Some guy with locksmith came with steel wire but that didn't work as the RR have no way to open when its locked.

I just hope that they come up with a smart tool and not a hammer. Any help and suggestion would be greatly appreciated. PS how much would a side window cost on a 2007 . Also one more thing mine came with 2 keys only need, is that right.

Do you have assist? maybe they can open the locks remotely

do our RR have the double lock deadbolt feature -- if i recall correctly, my 2001 LR Disco II had a feature where if you double locked the doors (with the key pressing it twice back-to-back) the door locks acted like deadbolts and could not be opened even from inside

Do a search. Somebody has explained the procedure on this forum - it involves coming in up through the rear door or the rear floor, as I recall.

No super locking on the Mark III Range Rover with dead bolts.

They removed that feature thankfully.

I can break into a P38 Range Rover no problem but man I don't know how to get into a Mark III.

Hmhh well LR3s and RRS say they have super lock too but they don't. It was pulled for the North American market just like the interior motion sensors.

I know current Mark IIIs don't but maybe early build 2003 MY did.

Yes its superlocked I guess, I tried a friend 07 RR to see if it would possible to open anything it when locked but No. Only braking the glass would get you out.

Maybe a new key would do the trick and might be cheaper than replacing the glass.

IIRC, a new key would require getting inside the vehicle to program it? I think the stealer told me it needs to be in the ignition to program the key.

I am surpised a AAA guy cannot find a way to get in there - usually they know all the tricks. The wife told me they have a device they put between the door and the jamb to open it just enough to get a device in there which will push the button.

The device is just an air bladder with a valve in it. It works just like a blood pressure cuff. You slide it into between the door and the body of the car then inflate it to gently pry the door open enough to get something in to trip the lock.

I have one but have never used it on a Mark III. It works great on a P38 but the Mark III has much studier doors. I am not sure it would work on a Mark III.

Also I just noticed are poor friend is in Qatar so no telling what kind of additional problems that would cause.

This happened to me last week. I got a new key from Land Rover and opened the door manually and then found the key locked inside and used that to drive to the dealer and program the new key. Only way to do it without breaking the glass

Yeah that should work as long as nothing funny happens because he is in Qatar.

Yes I know that device, but they didn't have so they stick couple of screw drivers to open it and missed up my black side trim :x I just feel I could kill them

Update, the dealer was able to unlock the vehicle from the trunk by removing the license plate lights and pulling some a wire.

Now I need to replace the back trim, anyone know that part number for that?

btw this trick can not be done in the sport model, and if you must brake a window don't brake the front, double glass, expensive one . The rear left side is much cheaper to replace.

I was able to open mine by getting a coat hanger extended to reach the center console lock button on the dash...Took a bit of time. As far as breaking glass, that not nessary. When and if that becomes an option, just remove the front windshield, it that gets broken, it is an easy replacement with mim labor, and insurance will pay for it. (can you say rock damage.) But by bending a knife, removing the trim, cutting the mastic that holds (glues) the glass is an easy job.

this is too cool. i had no idea. i tried it with my girlfriend this weekend. left her inside, hit the key lock twice, she could not get out. let me say, she was NOT happy.
