My 96 HSE doesn't have a courtesy light in the boot. Before anyone asks, I tried searching but found nothing.

Is there any reason I can't daisy chain a boot light from the rear passenger courtesy light?

I substituted the standard bulbs with LED bulbs for the interior, and
will be adding an LED 30cm strip in the roof somewhere for the boot.

I like that idea of LED strip. We don't have enough light in there. On the L322 there's 3 or 4 lights in the trunk. 2 on the upper tailgate and one inside the boot

No. Just use LED's so that you don't put a big strain on the thin wires and you'll be fine.

I bought a 30cm led strip a few days ago with the idea of fitting it to the upper tailgate (wired from the upper tailgate light). Tried it out last night, and it seems a little weak for the job. Will probably move it to within the boot (under the speaker shelf thing) and get a bigger (60 or 90 cm) for the tailgate.
