Hi there,

anyone with good ideas on how to permanently fix the bonnet locking mechanism on the RRC? I've grown tired of having either bonnet pins or rubber straps to keep the bonnet in place and that keep on breaking or releasing when going on rough roads (of which there's plenty in Kenya).

Grateful for advice.

I guess we're not seeing the same severity of road surfaces as you may get.

No trouble like that here, but can see if you've got conditions like that you'd struggle to secure it.

I've used, on rally cars, different additional methods successfully but there's not too much to secure to on the front of these away from main structure.

Perhaps combination of centre mount (factory catch) adjusted to give some small amount of slack, and something to give a soft support out at the corners rather than hard rubber feet. Allowing some movement and flex could be enough not to breach the standard catch mech.
