I have owned my 2005 BMW L322 for 6 years. It was great at first but what turns me off the most are the little things that break. Door handle cables, transfer case neutral issue, sunroof random issue, speakers random issue, windows random issues when the trunk wants, CAN bus faults for EAS and HDC. Headlight ballasts, plenty of other random things that shouldn't have gone on a 2005. Not even getting into the mechanical.

I am looking at a 2008 LR3 or a H2 SUT, or Wrangler Unlimited (no towing capacity so last choice). In regards to the LR3 is it an all around better vehicle or is it still made with the same build quality as the BMW L322.?

If you want a simple answer, yes the LR3 is a “better built vehicle”. Of course your mileage may vary on reliability, but go ahead and sign up to a forum like landroversonly and do some research, it’ll be worth it.

The LR3 had nothing to do with the BMW years or the full sized Rovers. The LR3 and LR4 are L320/Sport based and are a Ford ownership product.
