Does Anybody know what model/year BMW the M51 Diesel used in?

I shipped my car to SA where you don't get parts for it from Land Rover but BMW parts should be easy.
Problem is that the BMW dealer is useless and cannot understand M51; they only compute model/year - they spent 1.5 hours to find the wrong oil filter!!!!

As said does anybody know a BMW I could quote when I need to?

Like toad said, that link should help - also remember the engine was also used in the Vauxhall/Opel Omega's at around the same time. I guess they would of had the Omega's over there in SA under the Opel brand?
