Interesting situation today. A little cold here, so cranked up the heater to get things warmed up. 26 both sides, slipped it onto auto.

5 minutes later, driver's side, good and warm out of the vents and into the foot well. Passenger's side, icy cold, straight off the AC evaporator. Strange thing with one side of the dash vents blowing hot and the other side cold.

Thoughts?

There a 2 separate blend motors to control the temperature for driver and passenger. If one fails, it can end up in any position, either hot or cold or anywhere in between. You're likely to have the book symbol on the HVAC screen. Best case, it will start working again next time. Sometimes it helps to cycle from hot to cold and back, to get it unstuck. Worst case, you have to dig into the dash to replace the blend motor. Passenger side is a bit easier than driver side. Plenty of threads about the replacement on the forum.
