I have a 1992 RR classic that we bought a week ago. When you activate the blinker the trailer light blinks one time with the blinker. this happens in both directions; everything else seems ok. I have a hitch, but no trailer wiring that I am aware of.

Any thoughts as to what this means? I do want to tow a trailer that is about 5500 lbs with a tongue/hitch weight of about 500lbs. (It is an 1973 trailer) This may be out of the weight range and I am researching that now. I am concerned with the hitch weight. thanks as always.

it's normal, just a self test. once you hook your trailer up, the trailer light will blink to remind you you have a trailer hooked up.

I towed a 5500 trailer 27 foot long boat combo with mine, just plan your stops. The wind resistance is a killer, try to stay out of the fast lane, any more then 90K and mine needed a lot of throttle to keep up. A camper wont be much better.

use 4 low on steep hill starts and low speed driving, make sure your linkage is free, loves lots of lube, had 2 out of 3 trucks linkage seized now
