What shocks are better for the P38 if you are serious about offroading? Should I go with the Bilsteins or the Old Man Emu shocks, or is there another supplier that I have overlooked? Please let me know your thoughts. :?:

Never drove with OME but I can tell you Bilstein would be my last choice. Harsh and overdampled in all applications. Of course shocks are a personal preference thing. For me, the Bilsteins don't match the character of a RR.

The S man.

Bilstiens are monotube shocks - better for higher speeds, where as the newly redesigned Old Man Emu's are twin tube dampers !

For purely low speed off-road work the OME's are now a decent package, but have you checked out www.doetsch-shocks.com ?

Their "Pre-runner" has an extra 2" of travel which are suited to E.A.S. Rangies, giving a softer ride just like stock suspension.

Please put your location. This can help us for the choice.

I'd say that any Range Rover running on European Roads should have Bilsteins since our road are more technical than American ones for example.
