Ok, so this is very strange. It may have been something I pressed but for some reason my backup cam shows me a mirror image (left is right, right is left) since yesterday. Is this a feature? Did I press something? Thanks guys

Pretty sure there was a special service message or tech service bulletin on this specific symptom a few weeks ago (may still be buried in LR's tech web site somewhere, but I just checked and can't find it, so it was either pulled or doesn't show because of a glitch in the system... The new TOPIx site is a big mess!), IIRC it's a defective reverse camera and you will need to get it replaced. It's nothing you did, I'm afraid. /:(

Dropped off the car today. Dealer acknowledged known issue and hinted at having to change out the camera
Anyway, got an XF as a loaner so I'm gonna go out for lunch for sure :D

Hi trez63, did you recall having paid for the intervention on your rear view camera substitution or was it for free in kind of warranty/car system defect case? i am having the same issue and want to know if I have to pay for it or not!
Thanks a lot

Seeing last post on this thread was November. How did you resolve the issue with the camera? I phoned my local dealer today, they said they had not heard of this problem before but "thought " it to be a software issue and estimated cost to rectify, if it was was £80 - £90

Not a software issue. Same thing happened to my 2010 RRS. It was out of warranty. Dealer wanted $800+ to replace camera and supposedly "reprogram the computer" - which is nonsense on single back up camera systems. Bought a camera on the internet for $250-installed it myself-problem gone....easy install that takes about 30 minutes.

I know this is an old thread but I still wanted to thank the OP and Umbertob for their posts. I had the same issue and this thread was an immense help. I have a 2010 HSE Sport with a single backup camera and I have this mirror imaging problem as well. I have the part on order and I found this awesome video if anyone else finds this thread with this problem:
