Hi All:
Haven't been here in a while. So busy.

I getting ready to place a 2019 order to replace my 14' V8SC Dynamic. We love it so much, we're getting another one. This will be a 1st car brand (same model) repeat purchase for me, just love the design so much. And with the 2018 Velar tech (I was itching for a Velar for a bit), I'm sold.

It's not going to be my daily driver, the Sport's not gotten much driving lately (EV car for commute). So......

Option 1:
SVR - go nuts or go home, right? I love it, but haven't driven one, so not sure how the ride is.

Option 2:
ATB - spec it with Velocity color and gives me that SVR look. :) But can keep it close to $100k as oppose to $120k for SVR

Option 3:
TDV6 HSE - about $90k with all the options I want.

I know, vast difference in the 3.
Here's my thinking process. Section 179 for my Consulting business, SVR is great and checks everything, but I wont' be driving it as often, and it'll be garaged (waste of money?).

Going with option 2 - not as wasteful (all relative, I know) with my money, and still get the nice touches I'm accustomed to from '14.

Option 3 - just gets me there and have a replacement for my '14. No frills, but enough Torque to be fun once in a while, and still have the looks and the tech (I like the molded SVR/ATB steering wheel much better than the standard one in the HSE).

Thoughts fellow owners?

Thanks.

I am in a similar situation....still loving my '14 Dynamic but with 86k on the clock, I know I am nearing the end rather than the beginning. My car has been rock solid - no major issues and I still smile every time I drive it. I have had over 15 vehicles over my driving lifetime and this is the FIRST one I will replace with the same brand/ model. LR has definitely hooked me. Like you, I am envious of the Velar tech and am glad to see much of it make the updated RR Sport (Velar is a bit too small for me)!

I will likely be ordering a '19 early next year just before I cross the 100k mark ! On your choices...#2 seems like the Goldilocks choice! While I like and can appreciate the SVR, I bought a car that specializes in the "sports" department so I am good foregoing the slight upgrade in power/ handling. BUT - I could not do without the SC V8 power/ sound so I will very likely end up with another Dynamic - just like the one I have (only Silicon Silver vs my White).

Good luck with the decision- glad to know I am not the only one....

I'm a repeat buyer so I get it. 5 trucks total and own 2 currently. Tried to get a Disco but wife and I didn't like the Disco 5 as much as the Disco 4 and we needed something bigger anyway.

I love my diesel. It doesn't have the throaty growl out of the tail pipe but cool nonetheless.

I got a nicely equipped '17 and my dad just ordered an '18. I tried to pressure him to get a full size and he could have my RRS but he didn't like my color. :(

You really can't go wrong with any of your choices especially since it is not your tail driver. If the price doesn't scare you I would go for the SVR. Or trade in the EV car for an electric RRS. :)

I was in the same boat and went with an 18 ATB. I really wanted the SVR, but when I saw the seats in the ATB I was sold. The semi-aniline leather is almost hard to describe how soft it is. It may be in the SVR... not sure. With the massaging seats, it was over for me. Getting a massage while sitting in buttery leather and a great sound system going is perfect for me. The engine in the ATB is no slouch either...

I don't think you can go wrong with any of your choices. A suggestion, whatever you get, plan to get the high gloss plastics around the windows wrapped right away. I did that and it has made all the difference to me. I cant stand the scratches that stuff gets after even one car wash. Shouldn't be more than $500. My 15 never scratched as easily as the 18. One car wash at the dealer and it looked horrible. Its well worth the money to keep it looking like new.

Logic dictates option 2 or 3. Screw logic. I went with an SVR.

I’d get the SC Dynamic and keep it close to 100k, or the ATB although it will be hard to keep that close to 100k.

Concerning the SVR, for me if I’m spending $120k and buying a LR product, I’m getting a V8 full size—guess I’m too practical ?.

Lol! #ScrewLogic
Says every SVR owner evarrrrrrrrrrr!

I had a Corris Grey 2016 V8 and it did get looks, but the blue SVR just screams ‘look at me!’ (Not that you buy cars for people to look at).

Test drive the SVR and if it doesn’t make you want to order one right away, I would say definitely go with option 3 or 2.

I’ve had my friends and family drive my SVR and it actually makes them giggle like school boys! Lol it’s just sooooo much fun.

Ordering the ATB with Velocity paint. Dealer says putting in order @ end of the month.
I'm hoping the Velocity don't delay it, I need it by end of year.

Other than the hood, quad exhaust and those awesome seats, what am I missing with the SVR? Going to go with VelocityAP tune when I get the ATB.

Thanks for all the input.

Just to add...

Recent release of new models give some extra choices, but I think I'm sticking with the RRS.

'19 Q8 - but not available this year.
'19 X5M - not sure when it's available, kinda like the look.
'19 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid - had a '11 Cayenne S, so not too thrilled, but like the tech.
'19 Lincoln Navigator (intrigued by the luxury interior), but size is too big.
