You wash the windscreen and the wiper goes back and forth a few times. Then, after perhaps 3-5 seconds, the wiper goes forth/back ONE time, I suppose to get any water streaks out of the way. In the winter with all the salt, this extra one time wipe just streaks the window with salt/slime.

I wonder if that extra one time wipe can be disabled.

Its called a drip wipe and you should be able to disable with onboard computer, I'm sure someone on here will know exactly how.

Do you have auto wipers on - when I clean my windows I get the extra wipe but only because water runs down from the top of the screen and activates the auto wipe function. Try switching of auto wiper off and see if you still have the issue.
