I have over the past month or so been purchasing quite a few parts I have received excellent service thus far, however it has take British Atlantic over three weeks to put a quote together for me and another week to inform me they cannot deliver to a P.O Box honestly if you want to do business globally you need to get you act together and speed things up!

If you want great service visit and buy from the following site.

I have received nothing but stellar service from Brian W at AB. I usually have an answer to my emails within minutes and items often ship the same day I order. As far as PO Box shipping goes, many companies won't ship to a POB because if a signature is required obviously you wouldn't be there.
Same here, Nothing but great times and dealings with atlantic british. Especially now since I moved to the middle of no where and have to order parts.
Brian @ AB has been great for me too. Anything I can't get from Shupack, I get from them.
Same here, best parts and even with shipping costs, being in Canada, about $50 usually, they still beat the stealership cost buy 60%. Nothing but good to say about them, and it only takes 2 days to ship all the way to Calgary. :thumb:

and anything not listed on my site, all you need to do is ask :)

I understand the shipping issue though, UPS won't ship to PO boxes, and over 3-4 lbs, US mail (who will ship to PO boxes) is very un-reliable. A/B simply doesn't ship US mail, so by default, no PO boxes.

Anything I have trouble getting through my normal channels, I almost always get from A/B no problem.
I am glad you guys have good things to say about them honestly they take forever to answer my emails and even longer to compose a quote! Hopefully someone from their managment will read my post and do something about it because they are going to loose quite a bit of business if it contiues like this!
I've ordered a few things myself, prices seem reasonable and it doesn't take too long to get what I need. There have been a couple times I needed to call in, but they were always prompt.
Nice guys there, if you can manage the time difference and phone costs you get things handled in minutes. They are honest enough to direct you to cheaper items if they have the option as well.
No offence intended...but AB is probably more focussed on serving its US market... Namibia is truly a "foreigin concept" !!
Have you tried http://www.britishparts.co.uk/.sc/ms/ca ... ver%20P38A I 've had stuff shipped to Australia from there several times this year and they have been very good... then again the Brits do have a long history of sending stuff to the colonies

and my wife's parents... my ancestors (on said convict ships apparently)... and an endless stream of vermin that impacts on our native flora and fauna (not referring to my in-laws of course) :D :D

Gotta love Oz - so many luddites who think Range Rovers are a model of Toyota

Will look in to this Atlantic British mob though... seems they might be a useful supplier to bookmark... especially with the strength of the Aussie dollar at the moment.

Cheers, Paul.
Paul thanks for the advise about that website will give them a try, I agree that they concentrate on the US mainly but my opinion is if you are going to have an online shopping mall on your site and implement a little e-commerce within your company then you should have an efficient setup to deal with overseas contacts be it via e-mail or skype it should also almost instantantious, leaving customers to wait 3 weeks for a quote is just unacceptable!

Namibia might be very remote but I have successfully sourced parts from all over the world with no hiccups why would it be any different with Atlantic British if customers were important and they wanted to improve their rate of return customers then they would make the effort!

Rant over!
Me and Chris have had the same issues from a supplier in the UK. We were looking at bringing some parts over, but it took so long to get accurate quotes etc, we lost interest. The same supplier has a pretty good reputation in its own country, so I am guessing it was also due to being in a different country.
In these days of international commerce, it is a shame to have a potentially good supplier drop the ball for the sake of another line on a UPS shipping label. :(

In fairness though, I'm finding it is always difficult to quote on freight.

Firstly, you never know how an item is packed and if it will need extra packaging, changing the dimentions and weight. Secondly, you can try to be competitive on the price of the item and then actually loose money on the transaction when you've already quoted low on the freight and it turns out to be more.

On the International Orders page - "orders must ship to your billing address on file with your credit card issuing bank"
Is that new since they took a week to tell you that couldn't ship to a PO box?

Have you tried actually taking this up with AB?
i've been pleased with their service. prices are competive. their new site's a cinch to navigate. turned my dad onto them too for odds and ends on his 322 and he's been well treated.
my experience with their shipping isn't much of a help here since you can practically shout to them from where we live. therefore anything in stock makes it here in like two days. do you have to do po box? can you have it sent to a friend or business or a friend's business?
Like convicts, for an example?
Of course , that's why we Aussies are noted as a people of strong convictions!
