Are the water pumps for 95-02 all the same?

The water pump went out on me today and im replacing it, however, some sites say 95-98 and 99-02 are different while some other sites say 95-02 is all the same? Anyone can confirm? Also, ive read on here that 95-98 is the green coolant while the 99-02 uses the orange coolant, I have an 01 and it had the green coolant, since obviously its all flushed (well not sure since there still coolant probably in the radiator) should I just use the green coolant again or start fresh with the orange?

They should be the same from 95 to 2002. I believe the same pump can be used on some of the classic RRs as well.
how about the coolant? stick with the green stuff since it already had it or would this be a perfect time to go to the orange or it doesnt really matter?
Dexcool (the orange stuff) is what your rover had originally. However, I personally think that dexcool has caused head gaskets to go prematurely on late model P38s. If you have green OAT in there, I would just keep using it.
Looking at the parts manual, the pump was the same from 95 to 99 vin # XA 417382 which would use part number STC1693 Which list as NLA that number was superseded by STC4378 which is the pump used on the 99my through (v) # XA 426593 Then there was a part number change, from (v) # XA 426594 The part number is STC4434..
I hope this helps..

some companies say its the same and some say its different?
Don't buy cheap aftermarket water pumps. Use OE.

Scotty's desription answers your question fully. There USED to be two different part numbers. LR discontinued the early model and uses only the later model for ALL p38s.

The difference could be a change in seal, change in bearing, change in impellor... it really doesn't matter. The point is that they are all interchangeable.
