Help, bought used ebay part KNB500023, not update 3 times LR019990 and found many horror stories on web.

Does any one have any good reviews. dealers are charging $700 used $250-$350. Long shanks are older and British Atlantic said old long shank were reengineered because the were too long and hit roadways. Measured chassis female to ground is18". should be enough clearance unless access mode used!

Of course they are safe. I too have read some of those ridiculous horror stories across the web. You will find most of them are user error where the owners did not ensure a proper, firm lock of the securing pin. Several of those threads have follow ups that read along the lines of having so much filth in the receiver that the removable hitch was unable to be inserted all the way for a positive lock. You also have folks that have purchased used units that the sellers have had apart with the idea of lubricating the parts for easier use. Trouble with that is that once apart they never work again and need to be chucked in the bin.

Best thing you can do for yourself is test fit your used unit. Make sure your receiver is spotless. Make sure the lock on your insert is working properly, operating freely and firmly latches in place.
