Apple Car Play issues

Apple Car Play works pretty much seamlessly but I'm wondering if any of you have experienced one particular issue that I have experienced:

When Remote Start is used and the car has been running for 15 mins or so and I connect my iPhone XR, message says Car Play is Unavailable. I've tried the usual tricks (restart car, unplug phone etc.) but nothing works. If you unplug the phone and then select Car Play, you don't even get the Connect Phone message.

It's only when the car is turned off and left for while that it will work again (with a normal start).

This work around posted by @Holeecow is working for me.

Start your car with LR app.
Before going to your car, stop the car with the app.

Then go into your car like you normally would and Apple car play does work.

Hopefully someone else on here can try and see if it works for them? While I do want LR to fix this issue, at least we can use our remote start in the cold Canada weather lol!

I did try this. It shows the Car Play icon on the screen but when you press it is says Car Play unavailable. It was playing music via Car Play though but nothing else would work.

Did you do anything specific when you turned off via the app? When I did this both RR screens remained on, even after unlocking and locking the doors.
I turned the car off via the app at least a minute or two before I actually approached it and unlocked it with the key. No screens or lights were on when I unlocked it. It's worked every time I've tried it(so far).

Maybe it needs to completely shut down before unlocking it?
Same Car Play issue with my 19 RRS SC Dynamic. Your trick turning off the rover with the app before getting in and then button starting worked for me too. Let my service guy know as he was unaware of the issue since I was one of the first few to get Car Play added to a 19 here. Thanks for sharing.
Yes that worked. Thanks!

Haven't seen it posted anywhere else, but hopefully this is valid and reaches us all.

(would be great if this can be done without going to the dealer. I highly doubt it though)

That was quick update from C to D. looks like it solves several issue reported.

Mind if I copy your post over for the 405 folks?
