Anyone changed or painted the ugly silver plastic "handles" on interiorcenter column?

These look very cheap and just don't fit a "luxury" interior, I would love to know if anyone feels the same and what can we do about it?!

These should have been wood, or continuous trim. I don't care for it either. I'm sure LR will change that in the future as the truck evolves with light MY upgrades. They obviously have a roadmap for updates and I'm sure this is on the list.

I'm glad someone else brought this up. I believe you're referring to the shift paddles. Unbelievable cheap plastic...almost an afterthought. The other thing I don't like is the fact that you can't use the shift paddles unless you're in manual mode. Most paddle shifters can be used in any mode.

Shift paddles work always! In D you can shift, and after some minutes it gets back in D. If you go to S mode, it stays in manual mode until you hold the UP paddle for a few seconds.

But I agree....they could be made of aluminum....

Funny that you should bring this up. I found aluminum gearshift paddles on the Land Rover site and was thinking of changing out the paddle shifters (part number is VPLVS0187MMU). Cost is approximately $500.

Huh... I thought he was referring to the side trim running vertically on either side of the center stack, which I believe are alum.

So did I... now I'm confused. I do not like that silver trim running along either side of the stack. It should be wood or whatever trim is ordered.

Aluminium shift paddles for the new Rr Sport also fit the FFRR. Not yet available.....dealer told me hopefully end of October.

New RR owners....ugly silver trim pieces on the interior center console....what to do

Am I the only one who things these v shaped trim pieces look tacky? Why don't they match the interior wood chosen? Has anyone painted them? Are there any aftermarket replacements? Can they even be removed to paint? Not sure what to do but to me they look cheap and don't match.... Would love to hear recommendations

I think someone else here mentioned something similar, but it wasn't clear to me exactly what they were talking about. Post a pic so we can see what you are saying.

well they certainly don;t look expensive or luxurious. They look like something out of a Hyundai.

Personally, I wouldn't mind some sort of soft surface, as my right knee is almost always resting on this trim.

I think this thread should be closed....as nobody really seems to understand or know what jonnyrob wants to know or tell us......

In my opinion nothing looks cheap in this car......just the paddle shifts could be made of metal......will do.

Really? The thread should be closed? Forgive me if I don't jump right on your wish to close a thread you don't care for. :hand:

"...as nobody really seems to understand or know..." Well maybe you don't but I know exactly what he is referring to. As the Mark IV has only been out a short time it is totally understandable that folks haven't ripped their rigs apart to customize/change things yet. Likewise aftermarket parts and kits have not caught up to this model yet. At some point I have no doubt that someone will figure out how to disassemble the centre console and change out of paint these trim pieces.

100% agree!

Some parts just don't match the otherwise fine quality.
These "bars" are among them.

My wood is glossy black and I consider painting or wrapping them alike.
Will change the look but not the feel . . .

OK, 2. page now, and still nobody can explain what parts are we talking of. Some say its clear, but still do not explain what exactly?! There are no handles in the center console....

At least in my car parts are wrapped in leather, wood or alloy finished. So if somebody would explain what parts we are discussing, it would make things easier. Maybe a picture would be ...helpful?!

 What more is there to explain? You either get it or you don't. Since you don't and see no issues with your interior it is a nonissue for you then. For those of us that get it and don't care for their appearance we will gladly be following this thread with hopes someone takes on the project.
