Any reason why you want this when you can just suction the oil out for an oil change? I think there was a thread where someone mentioned that you get more oil out with the suction method vs the drain plug. Even the dealer suctions the oil out for oil changes.

This. There's no need to drop the skid plate and use the drain plug on these cars. There is a metal tube under the oil cap that goes all the way to the bottom of the sump. Get a Mity Vac and vacuum out the oil from the top. I'm not very mechanically inclined and it was easy even for me. The tools and oil/filter cost about the same as an oil change at the dealer. Going forward I just need to buy oil & filter.
I'm new to a 2008 rover and have not yet had to change oil yet but I do have lots of experience with the Fumoto brand of oil drain vales as they are on all my other cars. and mr Cessna plane which I put a GM V8 engine on.

They are great, clean and easier than sucking out the oil as I have to do with wife's Audi. You simply hook up a 3/8" clear hose on its nipple fitting and put other end in empty jug....open valve and that's it. no mess or transferring oil to another container for drop off.

it eliminates the step of transferring old oil from suction device to a container more suitable for bringing into a drop off location.....im not sure though if it's worth it on my RR yet as I have not seen what it takes to get access to drain.
