Hi All
Battery went flat and the central locking started "ticking" and "Flicking".put another fully charged battery on and now i've got Key code Lockout!
I have tried to enter the EKS code but am getting no joy.The side warning lamps are not flashing as per the owners manual instructions, but the horn is beeping at each turn of the key like you would hear for a mis lock.I have tried the "master reset" position II on the starter and re-connect the battery but still not working.
Any suggestions would be welcomme as I am just about at my wits end with this motor.
Just glad i bought my Toyota 4-Runner 2 weeks ago with its asscoiated boring reliabilty    (is that classed as swearing on this forum? sorry all)
Best Regards

Mark

I had exactly this the other week. Turned out to be a mis-lock - the rear load space doors were unlocked whilst all other doors were locked - BeCM seemed confused. Opening and slamming closed the load space doors cleared the problem and the EKA code was then accepted. Try all doors and open and firmly close any that are unlocked and see if it solves the problem.

Thanks Garvin for the reply!
I had tried that as well
Between me posting and you replying I stripped out the door latch and carefully disassembled it. I found some greed crud around the microswitch area,so brushed it away with an old tooth brush and squirted liberally with silicon spray,re-assembled and back in the car, entered the EKA code and on the last turn all doors unlocked, engine enabled and the beast lives once again!!!
For anyone elses reference the indicators did not flash through the process but it obviously worked!
Once again Thanks

@ Mark, I have the same problem at the moment, Key Code Lockout and I get the same "miss-lock" style beep when trying to enter the code and nothing happens - key code lockout still in the display.
Tell me, once you fixed the sticky door lock mech and tried re-entering the code, did you still get the miss-lock beep?

Also, just to make absolutely sure I'm using the right code, I have two codes: EKA and CATS/Security - I assume I'm correct in using the EKA code? What's the other code for?

Cheers!
