I finally got an email stating that my unit will ship tomorrow...I'm not sure how long it will take to arrive but it's good to know that it's on the way!

I’m thinking about doing this too. I added a second pioneer unit with screen mirroring so I could get nav traffic from pioneer on the main screen. This unit even has better routes and traffic avoidance. But the 10 inch screen will probably do that and more so it’s a much better option than my modification. LOL! No my friend, you're my role model. That's very creative what you did with the Pioneer unit but that's a little more work than I'm willing to take on. This new 10.25" unit will probably be our best option and it keeps everything looking OEM. I really like the screen in the 2017 L405 but it would probably be way to much trouble getting it to work in our older L405's. I'm sure the price of the 2017 OEM screen will also be a turn off.

My new screen arrived yesterday and it was fairly easy to install...mostly plug and play other than the trim bezel that has to be removed from center panel to install the bezel for the new screen...that was a little tricky and I managed to damage my panel while trying to remove it like the guy did in the video. The android screen is great and the Apple CarPlay is really nice. However, when I select the original screen, it shows no signal. I will have to play around with it later today and figure that out. Updates coming soon...

Nice full screen CarPlay

I guess the no signal is from the wiring harness going into the CD SatNav unit underneath

I assume there were no instructions lol

You're correct...no instructions in the box. I've tried disconnecting all the connectors and reconnecting but I'm still getting no signal on the original home screen. I can't even get the menu/mode buttons on the steering wheel to work right now. THe CD/DVD SatNav seems to have no power either. There was a DVD left in the unit and it won't even eject now. I'm a little confused now and the only other thing I can think of is a blown fuse maybe...

Looks gorgeous! If I were you I would contact Simon at PowerfulUk [email protected] or call them at 11 pm or 6 am. Simon might be willing to help, if you say you’ve been watching his YouTube videos. Simon is passionate about our L405’s and could be a resource since he did the YouTube install of the same screen.

That's a good idea...I didn't think about that. I've always watched their YouTube videos and learned a lot from them. I've also ordered from them a few times.

Any updates?

Also so maybe China sent you the wrong screen for capacitive touch vs the other screen or sent you the Evoque or sport screen. Does the Chinese company respond to your emails?

They sent the right screen but I'm starting to think they sent the wrong wiring harness. I have 2 cables on the harness that I don't see where they would plug into my existing wiring harnesses. They have been responding to all my emails to try to help sort it out but they are about 15 hours or so ahead of us so there's always a delay.

Update...I think I've found the issue. The CD/DVD SatNav Unit is not powering up even when I reinstalled the factory screen...it seems to support a lot of functions in the vehicle like the home menu screen, blind spot monitoring, rear seat entertainment screens and reverse/surround view cameras...either the main plug has lost power from a blown fuse or the unit itself is now bad. I've searched the owners manual and I can't seem to find where that fuse would be located. Hopefully someone on here can help me out on this one...

Update...I was able to find the fuse location and the fuses are good. I also checked for power at the plug and it's good as well. The only thing it can be at this point is the CD/DVD SatNav unit has gone bad during the install. I've ordered a used one from ebay so I hope this fixes the issue. Unfortunately, I have to wait to enjoy this beautiful new infotainment screen.

Yeap everything

Think of it as a simple screen replacement that adds extra features as that is what is it

Bummer you have have to wait. There is a big used part supplier in Long Beach who has our stereos cd used and maybe you could have picked it up? Also landroverland in sun valley has them. Please keep us posted.

Thanks...I didn't think to check with those suppliers but I found one on ebay for only $100 with shipping included. I should have it by Wednesday. I just hope that fixes the issue because I can't think of anything else. I was also wondering if it needs to be coded or activated by the dealer...I hope that's not the case. I really love how nice the Apple CarPlay is on this new screen. It only takes a couple seconds to boot up when I plug my iPhone into the USB dongle and it's very responsive. I didn't think that I would really even need CarPlay but after playing around with it on this new screen, I think that's mostly what I'll be using it for. As far as appearance, this screen is a nice upgrade from the factory screen that comes in the 2013-2016 L405's. Hopefully I will have everything all sorted out by the end of the week and give you guys an update.

Something thats been puzzling me since we began this adventure is the whole capacitive vs resistive situation, I know mine is capacitive ( Dual View as it's an AB ) so are you sure yours is Resistive ?

Not sure if the wrong screen type might break the Infotainment brain.

My understanding of the difference is that capacitive works with a finger and resistive works with a finger nail, would your original screen work with a finger nail ?

BTW mine didn't have a sticker on the outside of the box with details of which version it is like yours did. I'm hoping to get mine attempted to be installed at the weekend.
