I'm in a need of a bit of advice regarding my AC, I have done a search but still have some questions:

My AC stopped working, i.e. compressor will not engage. I have checked all relays, fuses, and they are ok. I jumped the compressor and it comes on, check the voltage to the compressor and no voltage, meaning something electrical is not commanding the compressor to turn on. The outside temperature sensor indicates the right temperature, I checked the internal and is clean. If I turn the system off, turn the AC off and the fans to off in about 3-5 minutes I get the book symbol which goes away when I re-set the system. It does not come on if I leave the system running, even though the compressor does not come on.

Reading through the forums I read a mentioned about a 3 position pressure switch, can anyone tell me in simple terms where is this switch located so I can check it.

The problem began as a random even, i.e. the compressor would not turn on every now and again, worked great three days ago, but last two days nothing!

Lastly, Can any one point me out to where I can get the troubleshoot CD? I changed computers and forgot to move the copy.

P.S. 1998 Range Rover HSE

The trinary switch is located on the LHS behind the bumper, right next to the radiator support. Its right on top of the receiver/dryer. Heres a pic that should help with identification, its #3 in the diagram. Also, if you do a google search for RAVE land rover the green oval has it available for download. Good luck.

Hey thanks for the diagram, really appreciate it, turns out the it was simply unplugged, must have been the source of my intermittent problems and the plug finally fell off. Is all plugged up and working.

Thanks again.
