Long time lurker first time poster here. I have the dreaded non tilting sunroof on one side (drivers). I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with any of the aftermarket type rail repair kits? I've seen some post where some have bought some and an extraordinary amount of modification and sanding was needed to make the necessary repair. Has anyone bought an aftermarket repair kit that hasn't needed a tremendous amount of work that fit?

Nope. The lift repair kit is a pile of junk and poorly executed. Used parts are far better than the misery of hours of sanding and fitments.

I bought a fully functional sunroof from a yard. If you remove the glass you can swap frames with no helper.
Lube the used one up with Silglyde and after you are done drop your window in and connect it.
Cover the dash or it will get nicked up. I went thru pass front.
Good Luck
