Hi, I've just finished replacing my head gaskets and resetting the engine timing on my 4.2 Rangie but when setting the timing, the timing light showed a Dwell Angle of 11degrees. I've read elsewhere that it should be 26-28degrees. How do you go about adjusting this?? I've searched on google but couldn't find anything particularly relevant.
Thanks, simon

Hi there, i've done some more research on this but still can't find an answer, some websites seem to say that Rover V8 dwell angle is fixed and can't be adjusted whereas others say there's some sort of adjustment on the distributor. I tend to agree with the latter given i'm reading 11degrees and it's supposed to be 26 or so. Does anyone have a definitive view on this and more importantly know how to adjust it?? Otherwise it's a trip to the garage!!!
Thanks, Simon
