Hi All,

Just did a quick search on this but found nothing.

can I add the sub woofer and its amp easily to an HSE? Just fit and connect up?

If I do this, will the head unit automatically recognise it?

I wondered what the difference between the HSE and Vogue is, and now I'm beginning to find out!

I thought they all came with sub woofers

There are 2 wires to the sub and power plus switched power via the headunit

Is there the wiring loom to the back of the car?
is there +ve, -ve and one wire which goes +ve when the radio is on? (in addition to the 2 speaker wires)

Well, the settings on the head unit do not show "sub woofer", so I assume (very dangerous!) that there is not one fitted.

I'll have a look before rushing .... cheers.

Mine doesn't have a sub woofer setting but the sub is there.

thought that was HSE spec; does it have a panel in front? maybe somebody took it out?

Yeah, I too thought all HSE's came with subs.

I bet your wiring is there and just hidden behind the panel.

BTW...I have an extra one I'd sell you cheap ($50), but shipping to SA has to be huge.

Hi there Spiggy Topes,

Try pressing the "SEL" button on your radio for a couple of seconds. An "LD" indicator should come up on the display.
We didn't know about our sub woofer for a while, but someone else posted about the SEL button activating the sub 8)

I hope this helps you in your quest for some better "doof... doof..."

And yes the HSE did come with a sub, factory fitted

Cheers,
Mick.

Remove the L panel in the back above the CD player, that will show the sub and the wires to it.
